The Indian Climate Congress functioning under Satyasai Charitable and Educational Trust (SCET), Cuttack, Odisha (Regd. No.- 4352/451/1999) owes its origin to the foresight and initiative of an eminent Agricultural Scientist of India, namely, Prof. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Samantarai, Alumnus of IIT, Kharagpur, Former Dean OUAT, Bhubaneswar and Chief Engineer and Director WALMI, Water Resources Department, Govt. of Odisha. It occurred him that research on climate change in India might be stimulated if an annual meeting / Seminar of research workers on climate change for advancement of Science and Technology could be arranged to solve the day to day problems related to climate change and ultimately to bring world peace.

Indian Climate Congress was inaugurated on National Science Day of the year 2009. The first meeting of the Climate Congress was held from 28.02.2009 to 02.03.2009 at the premises of NM Institute of Engineering & Technology, Bhubaneswar under Biju Patanaik University of Technology. With modest begining, we have successfully completed (13th Indian Climate Congress at Synergy Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar on 28/02/2025, on the eve of 39th National Science Day.
