Abstract

Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) is a globally important oilseed crop and source of high quality protein for human consumption, used as fodder for animal and is also important in improved crop rotation system. The rate of production of soy bean losses due to crop infections from pathogens such as bacteria, viruses and fungi are persistent issues in agriculture for centuries across the globe. In order to minimize the disease induced damage in crops during growth, harvest and postharvest processing, as well as to maximize productivity and ensure agricultural sustainability, advanced disease detection and prevention in crops are imperative. This project is designed for the synthesis of silver based biosensor for the detection and identification of plant pathogens.
