Prof. Dr. Niranjan Rout is the Chairman of ABC Foundation and former Dean and Head of the Department of Pathology at Ahariya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre. With an illustrious academic and professional career, he has published over 100 research papers in reputed peer-reviewed journals and authored more than three books. He is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Cancer Cervix Eradication.
Since 2011, Dr. Rout has been leading the annual observance of World Cancer Cervix Eradication Day on March 11 at Cuttack, commemorating Nobel Laureate Dr. Harald zur Hausen, whose work established HPV as the cause of cervical cancer. Under his leadership, ABC Foundation has played a pioneering role in spreading awareness, promoting HPV vaccination, and re-orienting medical professionals through seminars, CME programmes, and workshops. A dedicated academician, researcher, and public health advocate, Dr. Rout continues to work tirelessly for the eradication of cervical cancer.
