Basanta Kumar Mohanta

Dr. Basanta Kumar Mohanta teaches anthropology and tribal studies at MSCB University, Baripada, as an Associate Professor. He did his P.G., M. Phil., and Ph.D. from Utkal University and a PG Diploma in Museology and Heritage Management from MPBO University. He is the former Head of the Department of Anthropology and Tribal Studies, MSCB University, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, CBSS, Eritrea (Africa); and a former faculty member of the Department of Anthropology, IGN Tribal University, Amarkantak (MP); fellow of the Anthropological Survey of India; Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland; IGRMS, Bhopal etc. He has published/edited seven books and several research articles on various aspects of anthropology, museology, tribal studies, history, archaeology, and culture studies, as well as worked/working as an editor of four research journals. He is a life member of many societies and bodies, like the Indian Anthropological Society; Indian Science Congress; Museum Associations of India; Indian Anthropological Association etc.
