Abstract

In recent year s , agricultural wastes have become the important pollution sources , and the problems caused by poultry and animal feces i s global attention. Odi sha is one of the 29 states of India, located in eastern India. It is the 9th larges t state by area, and the 11th larges t by population. Odi sha i s a major agricultural state of India. The agriculture sector contributes only about 30% of the Gros s State Domes tic Product (GSDP), with more than 60% population dependence resulting in low per capita income in the farm sector. The cropped area i s about 87.46 lakh hectares out of which 18.79 lakh hectares are irrigated. Climate and soil play a vital role in Odi sha’ s agriculture economy . Today Vermicomposting i s a low-technology , environmentally -friendly method used to treat
agricultural wastes . The resulting vermicompost has been recorded to have several positive impact s on plant growth and health.
